A Good Day at Animal Artistry

Mike Boyce’s, Owner of Animal Artistry, First Deer

This morning a 14-year-old boy and his father came into our studio with the boy’s first Deer. He told me the story of the hunt with great excitement, which made me smile. I asked him, “Why’d you bring your Deer here?” and he said, “Because you guys do awesome work.”

Another Good Day

A few days prior, two young hunters drove six hours to bring their Deer to us. One of the Deer was a beautiful non-typical. When I asked about the hunt, he told me he had put in for 16 years, finally drew, and then went through the agony of watching the Deer throughout the summer for fear that it would be poached or killed, as it was coming closer to roads and housing.

Hunting Season Opens

Eventually the hunting season opened, but he could not find the deer. However, after persistence and good luck, he was able to track it and take it. When I asked him why he brought his Deer to Animal Artistry, he told me there was no place else he would take it but here.

Worth the Trip

We had another new client that literally drove 12 hours one-way to bring an Elk and Antelope to us, he said, “When I see your taxidermy work and your turnaround time, it’s worth the trip.”

A Gratifying Experience

I cannot tell you how gratifying this is for me to see blue-collar guys make the effort to bring their taxidermy work to Animal Artistry. It also destroys the myth that we are simply here for the big international hunter who spends thousands and thousands of dollars.

The Real Payoff

I love being a part of the average Joe’s hunting experience and seeing his face when he comes back 90 days later and sees his trophy completed: it is a good day at Animal Artistry.
